Biscuit Like Burger Buns



2 tbs active dry yeast

1 cup plus 2 tbs warm water (around 110 degrees F)

1/3 c vegetable oil

1/4 c sugar

1 egg, room temperature

1 tsp salt

3-3 1/2 c ap flour


Line a baking sheet with parchment and set aside. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.


In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add oil and sugar; let stand for 5 minutes. Add the egg, salt, and just enough flour to form a soft dough.


Turn onto a floured surface. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic - approx 3-5 minutes. Do note let rise!


Divide into 12 even pieces. Shape each one into a ball. Place 3" apart on baking sheet. Bake for 8-12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pan and place on wire rack to cool completely.
